BERKELEY, Calif. — Nearly a couple months past their soft opening, the new Berkeley brewery, Fieldwork Brewing, has not only seen their beers spread to Bay Area taps, as well as their own taproom hours expand; they’re now set to celebrate their grand opening with a weekend-long celebration starting when they open at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
The brewery is the work of Barry Braden, co-founder and owner, as well as co-founder and head brewer, Alex Tweet, formerly with Modern Times Beer and Ballast Point Brewing in San Diego.
Since their opening, the brewery has debuted a slew of beer, including IPAs, a breakfast stout, a chocolate milk brown ale, saisons, and a collaboration with Altamont Beer Works in Livermore.
The grand opening celebration will see a special run of beers released throughout the weekend, including a New Orleans Iced Coffee Imperial Milk Stout called Eliza, a new double IPA called Torrential, and a biere de garde and French table beer named Hannah and Hugo, respectively.
The brewery has teamed up with The Pie Shop in Oakland to provide meat, veggie and vegan pies on the brewery’s premises. For those looking for a more formal affair, the brewery is also partnering with Chef Mike O’Brien — of Mikkeller Bar, Perdition Smokehouse and The Trappist — to host a Mardi Gras in April beer dinner, featuring a five course Creole-style menu. The dinner will be on Saturday, April 25, at Fieldwork, as a part of their grand opening celebration.
