SAN FRANCISCO — With the holidays around the corner and vacations beginning, take a break and enjoy a wide variety of flavors from the Bay Area brewing community. New IPAs, chocolate flavors and fruity beers highlight some of the new releases around the Bay this week.
Cooperage Brewing Company — Dragonaut is the name of the new IPA at the Santa Rosa-based brewery. This 8.3 percent brew is hopped with Equinox, Citra and Simcoe.
Local Brewing Company — The new brew at Local is called Linda Mar Pale coming in at 5.5 percent alcohol. This brew is made with a light UK Pale malt, UK white wheat, with flavors of tangerine and lemon.
Fieldwork Brewing Company — The Berkeley brewery released a couple of IPAs on draft. An IPA called King Citra features flavors of orange juice and tangerines, with a slight carbonated orange profile flavor.
The next brew is also an IPA called Monsoon Double, back by popular demand. This brew has an 8 percent alcohol level and has aromas of cantaloupe and honeydew. Also made with Mosaic and Calypso hops along with pears and apricots, this brews body was described as “a mellow toffee-like malt profile.
Temescal Brewing — The Temescal neighborhood brewery released a couple new brews, the first being Satsuma Bolone. This brew is made with Satsuma mandarins and has an alcohol level of 4.5 percent alcohol.
The second new brew is called Business As Usual, an IPA with an alcohol level of 6.3 percent alcohol and made with Equinox, Chinook, and Amarillo hops.
Strike Brewing Company — This brewery released two new beer this week. Winter Camp Olde is the first on the list made with black currant and dark chocolate.
The next new brew is a 4.2 percent alcohol level beer called Paint the Corner Persimmon, it is a kettle sour with an IBU of 0.
