SAN FRANCISCO — With school in full swing and Fall quickly approaching, there are many new beers out to enjoy the weekend with. There are some seasonal items out along with many new IPAs. If you’re in the Bay Area this weekend your beer tastebuds should be covered.
Half Moon Bay Brewing Company — The Peninsula brewery just released their seasonal Pumpkin Harvest Ale. Bottles will be available around the Bay Area, in addition to their Half Moon Bay taproom.
Barebottle Brewing Company — A new IPA is out at Barebottle Brewing Company called Boaty Mcboatface. Dubbed a “Mosaic bomb” on the brewery’s Facebook page, the beer comes out to 4.1 percent alcohol and is hazy, hoppy and extremely crushable.
Local Brewing Company — The SoMa-based brewery has two new IPAs out this week. “Super” features Citra, Apollo and 7Cs hops and a “solid dank and sweet tropical fruit and melon flavor profile,” along with “bright tangerine and citrus notes,” according to the brewery’s Facebook page. The beer comes out to 8.4 percent alcohol.
Their second IPA release is a Belgian IPA called Terminal G Belgian. Described on their Facebook page as having “big malty, Belgian Pilsner and dark CaraMunich malts,” the beer is hopped with Chinook, Amarillo and 7Cs hops, giving it a piney and fruity kick.
Woodfour Brewing Company — Abbey Normal is the newest beer available at Woodfour Brewing company. “This Abbey Style ale is brewed with a healthy dose of special Belgian caramel malts and fermented with a unique Belgian yeast resulting in beer oozing with rich malty notes and a dark fruit undertones,” the brewery said on their Facebook page.
Cooperage Brewing Company — “Everybody Curts” is a new Pale Ale on tap at Cooperage Brewing Co. It comes out at 5.8 percent alcohol and has large amounts of Mosaic and Simcoe hops according to their Facebook page.
