SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco and New York-based Shmaltz Brewing Company is releasing two brand new and exciting beers for you to consume this summer. Both beers deliver the utmost refreshing flavor that is achieved from the wonderful combination of hops used. Check these out:
Slingshot American Craft Lager
5.3 percent alcohol
Aroma — unexpected fruit bomb of apricot, mango, citron fruits, pineapple, and other tropical fruits
Flavor — yellow grapefruit, mango, pineapple, a bit bready/yeasty, tinge of spice from the rye malts
Texture — light bodied, slight creamy texture
Final thoughts — The Slingshot was a great start to my tasting this evening. However, it was not what I was expecting from a lager at 5.3 percent alcohol. Very much like a pale ale with abundance of hops.
The Slingshot is out in 6-packs, brand new as a yearly offering, hitting your palates with fruity flavors of refreshment.
Wishbone Session Double IPA
8 percent alcohol
Aroma — malty dankness, citrus, pine
Flavor — bready malt, dry grass, pine needles
Texture — sweet up front with a dry finish
Final thoughts — A fairly simple, tasty, drinkable “session DIPA”, which is an ironic category more than anything.
The Wishbone Session DIPA is out in 4 packs now!
I enjoyed both beers but I personally liked the flavor of Slingshot more because I’m into the fruity flavors at the moment. I hope you all will go out and get your hops-on!
