ThirstyBear announces block party with 20 breweries to celebrate anniversary

By Sam Molmud @smolmud · On July 21, 2016

SAN FRANCISCO — Most breweries take their yearly anniversary as an opportunity to release a special beer, throw a party and ultimately highlight the brewery itself.

For ThirstyBear Organic Brewery, they’re going a different route: throwing a block party with 20 local breweries.

On Saturday, August 27 from 1 to 5 pm (12-5pm for VIP ticketholders), ThirstyBear will bring 20 local breweries outside its brewery for a bash featuring unlimited pours of over 40 beers, artisan cocktails, wine and food. Purchasing a VIP ticket will allow attendees early access, an exclusive tasting from ThirstyBear’s “Private Beer Library,” as well as expedited lines for cocktails, bathrooms, and of course, beer.

ThirstyBear will be debuting a multi-grain, wet hopped nitro-conditioned beer for their anniversary, as well as planning to release a barrel-aged beer called Dark Age.

In addition to the plethora of beer that will be available, ThirstyBear’s Executive Chef Rob McCarthy will be serving up seafood and vegetarian paellas, cheese, Spanish tapas and roasted pigs at the event. Sangria, wine and cocktails will also be available — in addition to the beer.
